The Hindering of the Hindenburg

Carolyn bought a blow up doll at Teener’s
half-price sale only to discover that the seams
were sliced and no human-like form could be
maintained for any amount of time so she tied
it to string and flew it among the sky where it
gathered air and could be viewed by many
just west of the metro area.

A Feather’s Weight

Melody sat in the back quiet and content
trimming the heaviness off her tail while
replaying Honky Chateau for the umpteenth time.
When Eli entered the room he changed
the tune and Melody’s doubts resurfaced
causing her to hide her tail between her legs.

Imitations Won’t Do

Moretta Meineke suggested to the school’s
dietician the idea of substituting tofu for bologna
by adding four drops of red food dye per chunk
before slicing paper thin.  Bofu sandwiches
could be featured on Tuesdays throughout the year.
